Emotional Safety
It is the experience that you are accepted; it is the experience of kindness, of knowing someone is listening, sees you, and that there are solutions.
you are not alone…
Welcome to Greg Corbin LMFT
Over the course of 38 years in healthcare and the helping professions, I developed an intense interest, respect and love for the process of human healing and the individual internal journey. As a licensed psychotherapist, I am afforded the opportunity to provide a style of psychotherapy that is grounded in traditional psychotherapeutic theory and practice yet includes a creativity born from my love and appreciation of art, music, literature and spirituality. The inclusion of creative possibility offers me the opportunity to design and implement a unique, therapeutic experience and treatment approach tailored for each specific client.
A person can always move through the ‘what’, if they know and understand the ‘why’….
What is Mindful Psychotherapy?
Mindfulness is a state of being. Being in one’s experience without adding thought or judgment to it. Mindfulness is presence. Often, we add our own thoughts, an inner narrative, to our what we internally know. Thoughts then separate us from what we know. Mindfulness allows us to know, to see, to trust our experience and ourselves, without measuring and without narration. A deep contentment and serenity result.
What does that mean in therapy? Psychotherapeutic practices enveloped in mindfulness practice result in a clear awareness of our inner state, allowing a deeper resolution, and a deeper trust in ourselves and profound inner peace.
One who seeks help may experience one or several of the following:
- Wake feeling anxious a sense that something unpleasant is approaching..
- Moving through the day feeling defensive, fearful or unable to focus…
- Consistent physical fatigue, feeling there isn’t enough energy to complete the day…
- Normal daily tasks feel overwhelming…
- Life activities that normally bring joy and fulfillment are no longer a source of happiness and may be experienced as disappointing, discouraging, challenging…
- Eating may no longer bring pleasure or satisfaction. One’s stomach is upset from emotional distress or from too much or not enough food and drink…
- Family or time at home carries another set of challenging issues or problems…
- Sleep isn’t restful, bedtime is a struggle because the mind runs away with fear, unpleasant thoughts and feelings.
- Feel a “free floating,” non-specific sadness…
If Only I Could Just…
Stop the (mental) chatter, find peace and rest
Not feel such shame, depression, hopelessness and discouragement
Feel legitimate, that I belong and am authentic
Feel connected to life and to others; belong
Not feel painful emotions
Think clearly, focused and interested
Feel worthy, important and deserving of love

Why does therapy with Greg work?
He listens, I do not feel alone with my pain. I have clarity and am able to develop a vision for where I am going and find the strength to move forward
Greg helped me understand the hidden and forgotten wounds that were shaping my daily life. Once understood, we found solutions….
He has ‘radar’ for knowing when I need soft, consistent, support and understanding as well as when I need clear direction and motivation
Greg taught me to live and thrive with the uncertainty and ambiguity that is very often present in my life. I struggled with this for many years and have found peace.
I worked with other therapists in the past. Greg accepts and is able to be with me as I work through old, painful experiences. I had not felt completely accepted, either by myself or by others in my past experiences. This was a different experience and more suited to my needs
Don’t go where the path takes you, rather, go where there is no path and leave a trail
